It will be a Ford Econoline of sorts, if there is no front view to give a more precise year model.
Though given the style of the ambulance unit it’s most likely a late ‘90s early ‘00s ambulance.

Since we can't really narrow down the years, how about we just go with the generic "E-Series" name? I know that technically it only applied to 1999+ models, but it would seem more generic than calling it an Econoline since it could be a 1999+ model (and therefore the Econoline name wouldn't apply).

I thought they got rid of the Econoline name in 2002. Either way this could be any E-350 between 1992 and 2006.

It was 1999 in badging but it lasted until 2002 in sales literature/brochures. And couldn't it even be an E-450 also?

That's always possible. I'd even consider the E-550 if the cowl were a little bigger.

That would be fine by me, unless others object to it. :D

I see this a lot on here and have a question about it. I know on the complete vans (meaning not cutaway or cab-chassis) they used the econoline name but I have seen a lot, and I mean a lot of ambulances, box vans etc. with the "E-x50" badges on the front fenders and I know that some of these are older than 1999 some even have the 92-96 front end. are we 100% sure that the cutaways were not called E-xxx??

I know exactly what you're talking about. And I've actually wondered about this myself. Such examples I've seen have been older model U-Haul trucks that are E-350's but are within the 1992-1996 year range. But I really don't know. I know that Neptune has been doing some research on these vans and so have I, but so far I haven't come up with anything concrete (at least for thse cutaway/cab-chassis models).

I haven’t found any Ford Econoline/E-Series OE Brochures from the ‘90s, but that doesn’t
mean I will stop searching. So far I have E-Series Brochures from 2001 calendar year -up.

There was a short period just around the turn of the century, when Ford lifted up the cowls, stuck a heavier chassis & wheels underneath and cut the hood up so that it would tilt forward; the same thing GM did to their heavier vans in the mid-1990's. In the case of the Fords, they were for E-450's and E-550's. Now, the E-450's are just the heaviest of the E-Series vans.
