The pilot episode: Brother's Keeper. This is the only time we see the Trans Am as it pulls away from the kerb (though the engine noise is good). For anyone whos a fan of 3rd generation F-bodies and Camaros in particular, there is a substantial chase later on between Tubbs in Crockett's speed boat, and Crockett giving chase in a Camaro with a nice paint job. |

How come Tubbs only uses it once in the whole bloody 5 series? Was it because Knight Rider was on at the same time? |

This is what KITT looked like before it was modified to its familar all-black look. Because Knight Rider and Miami Vice were both Universal shows there is a chance it is the car from Knight Rider's first episode. But, I see this example has different seats than the one in Knight Rider. Oh well. -- Last edit: 2007-12-02 03:33:31 |

I wouldn't call this 3-stars? as with poncho sd's comments above, we only see tubb's get into the car (the scene then cuts away.!) we don't see the car anymore.! doe's that qualify as 'Used by a character'? (Ben says it's driven by Tubb's at the beginning? Nothing seen in the movie I have? the only car he drives at the beginning is the Buick Electra as already listed) |

It's a 1982. 1983 models did away with this particular type of "aero" hubcaps. It does not have the optional sport seats as seen on KITT. |

A 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am which is actually a black/gold Recaro Edition. |

I don't think its a Recaro because i think all Recaro's had T-tops and also gold wheels behind the bowling ball caps. |

Actually no...KITT was never the black and gold Trans-Am that Michael Long drove in the beginning of the "Knight Rider" pilot TV Movie. Michael thinks it's his Trans-Am when he first wakes up from the coma & plastic surgery--as Michael Knight now. But, Devon tells him it's not his car...it's just one that looks somewhat like it. I do not think this is the one used in "Knight Rider" first, then later used in this pilot for "Miami Vice". It's one like it...but not the same one. But, I love this car! ![]() -- Last edit: 2013-03-16 05:06:41 |

It could not be the same car on Knight Riders pilot because this has no T-Top. It can be that easy ![]() |
