Ex Wikipedia: - “The Austin A135 Princess Long Wheelbase Saloon (DS6) and Limousine (DM4) were introduced in 1952.[4] The GM Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission and Hydrosteer power steering from Princess IV were fitted from 1956 as options.[12] The marque name was changed from Austin to Princess in August 1957,[12] and then to Vanden Plas[12] from July 1960.[13] The long wheelbase models continued to be built by hand in limited numbers as the Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre Limousine, until 1968.” The only area of controversy would be whether, or not, the car’s date matches its number plate. The design says it could, and why adopt a seven digit plate, but it looks a bit of an old dog, the panel fits are a bit haphazard. It also appears to have a “P” on the boot lid, but maybe a secondhand part. -- Last edit: 2025-04-28 09:21:50 |

RWE 486E was a genuine Sheffield series issued July 67, but nothing found. However some hint from nearby numbers that it was also used for age-related re-issues around 1991. Could well be a July 67 car for visible details, but now extinct since ep date (Dec 2006??). |
