1977 or later Pinto. Is it just me, or does this girl remind anybody else of Ally Sheedy? -- Last edit: 2008-10-24 06:19:57 |

Not sure, the girl is Kristen Stewart. I remember her from The Messengers (2007) She played the character "Jess" ... /movie_425430-The-Messengers.html |

Yes. I graduated high school in 2004 and I recalled one guy drove a '66 Chevelle, another guy had a '65 El Camino, and yet another guy had a '70s-ish Chevy pickup. These cars were not in mint condition. Most students had cars from the late '80s and early '90s. |

I drove my 1972 SAAB 99 to my high school sometimes when I attend there back in the 1980's. The only worst part is when they adjusted the door mirrors unnatural position ![]() |

At my school-times I had no own car, the first came 4 weeks after I've finished school. In West Germany of the mid- to late 80ies, it was more freaky and cool than today, to drive older and/or unusal cars. And they were really cheap back then, for less than 500 DM (ca.250 Euro) you could get with a bit luck driveable and quite reliable old clunkers. Golf, Fiesta, Corsa and such stuff, was seen as boring - and the drivers, too. The oldest car at our school, I remember, was a 1962 Opel Rekord. One class-mate drove 1969 Ford 17 M [P7b]. Two other guys had Opel Kadett B, others drove Beetles, mainly 1978+ Mexico-mades, but also one 1303 existed. Quite a high freak-factor had the 1977 Simca 1308 and the 1978 Chrysler Horizon of two fellows ![]() |

Only clueless morons say that ![]() Btw.: this kind of "youth culture" stopped immediately in July 1990. Then the "Zonis" (resp.DDR-citizens) got the D-Mark - and within a few days, less than 2-3 weeks, there was no used car any more available in West Germany. None. Neverwhere. And for the few single exceptions the prices were exploded. I was one cof the few lucky people, who could catch a used car in West Germany in that days. On the 19th of July 1990 I've bought my first own car ![]() P.S. There was a 2nd book of that. A guide for specific models. The K 70 is mentioned there, too. ![]() ![]() |

In my high school days (the late 70s) most were early 70s cars. One of them had got a dark green metallic Ford Escort Mk I in 1100 XL guise and the oldest was much older than tha others (a 1953 Fiat 500 C Belvedere respraied in an unoriginal bright red). I bought a '72 Fiat 500 F, so rusty that I could have bought a Jaguar considering how many problems it suffered in the 18 months it spent with me. It was so popular that I had no problem to resell it but, it was a junk in quality... |
