I think it's a P plate, so 75-76 which matches the Sept 75+ poverty Viva Coupe E - simple trim without any shiny bits around windows. This was a ploy to use up a stockpile of unused coupe bodyshells as demand for Firenza Dropsnoots and Magnum versions started to evaporate, so Coupe E was invented to briefly become the cheapest Vauxhall, priced way below other Vivas and the new Chevette. Available in Monaco white or optionally bronze-gold starfire or blue fire. No info how many made - presumably it lasted only until the pile of bodies was exhausted - but it worked so Vauxhall then did E versions of normal Vivas and Chevettes. |
