'24V DOHC' badge indicates it has the Duratec V-6, the more powerful of the two engines available in the Sable. First year for the 24V badge was 1998 maybe? Or midyear 1997? |

Should be 1998. Edit: these wheels were only offered on the the LS. https://xr793.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/1998-Mercury-Sable.pdf -- Last edit: 2024-09-21 01:16:42 |

I did find this one built in June 1997 (and confirmed 1997 model year by the VIN) that has the badge, but it is an outlier: https://sca.auction/en/1018958272-1997-mercury-sable |

That is news to me. I have never seen a 1996-1997 with that badge. I did extensive research years ago and this is the first one I have seen. Anything is possible no less. -- Last edit: 2024-09-21 01:35:46 |
