zodiac ◊ 2024-07-21 01:47	Interesting. This is a 1956-58 Ford Consul 'High line', but a bit modified. The chromed head light surrounds are an easy swap from the original which were painted. The twin colour paint scheme was, to my knowledge anyway, never original and not even available as optional extra, on the Consul. Only the Zodiac. However, even though the front wing lengths differed between the Consul and the Zephyr/Zodiac, the cast and chromed 'knee' was very short and the straight chromed strip beneath it could be cut... And, hey presto, a Consul looking like a Zodiac!

dsl ◊ 2024-07-21 03:11	It's a weird one, as noted. Agree Highline roof, and with ribbed rear panel Oct 56+. Doesn't look like chrome windscreen surround, which agrees with Highline, and has shiny side window trim which could suggest Oct 57+ Deluxe. But it has 59+ Lowline rear lights with the extended fins (or something very similar as they don't look quite right??). As said, swapping headlight rims for chromed isn't complicated, but rebuilding rear wings or fitting newer ones is much bigger effort, especially such a distance from Dagenham. Amending to 58 Deluxe which keeps it within Highline phase.
