We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided MG SERIES Y UNKNOWN 1959 Registration number: 82 JPB Body type: Saloon Colour: Green Date of first registration: March 1959 but that's a newer re-reg. Yes indeed - 82 JPB is recorded in the DVLA as a 1959 date of manufacture and as a March 1959 date of first registration which is clearly incorrect. I would love to find the owner of this and update the International MG Y Type Register with correct details and work with the owner to getting the DVLA records correct too. My guess is that it was originally exported and re-imported back into the UK possibly in 1959 or there was a typo in the conversion of LVLO manual records to the DVLA computerized records miss-reading or typing 1949 as 1959. |
