Which begs the question of why one would bring a F5000 to a Drag race?

That makes sense but also begs the question of how exactly a F5000 car got approved to run in the top fuel class for this race?

I don't know drag racing rules and regs, but what would prevent it being eligible?? As old F1/F5000 cars don't as far as I know compete in drag races, they're not a good match - maybe too heavy and not enough immediate acceleration?? - but some advantages such as top speed, aerodynamic stability, safer construction, less fragile, real brakes, cheap to find when obsolete?? So would be worth a try to see how competitive they are??
