I don't know how I feel on where it came from and the MY you've mentioned there, because while there are some official community clubs for VW Type 1 owners here in Indonesia but AFAIK, there's no way to find the exact model name due to a number of imported ones from different countries, as well few existences of those sold officially here. See if you or anyone else can find information from them, I'm 99% that the VW Type 1s they used here were also a part of those clubs.
