This is a rebadged Grand Highlander, a US Toyota product, and will only be sold in North America. |

It's not clear whether the Grand Highlander and TX were developed by TMNA: unlike the previous generations of the regular Highlander, they don't appear in the list of designs made by their R&D studio, and official press notes always say that they were developed 'for North America', but not 'in North America'. However, an American involvement is very likely in my opinion. For sure, they're only built at their Princeton, IN, assembly plant. Chassis code is [AU10] |

I'd say probably keep it under J for now?? I really doubt the Japanese team had much to do with the development of this one. |

Me too. Let's see if we can find some reliable sources to confirm this |

I have this for the Grand Highlander. "Designed by CALTY Design Studios in the USA and exclusively assembled at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in Princeton, Indiana, the Grand Highlander offers an exterior design that is distinctive and stylish, coupled with a spacious interior found in all three rows." It's probably reasonable to assume the TX was as well. I'd go back to my initial assessment of Origin: USA. They might not appear in the R&D list since they are new cars. -- Last edit: 2024-11-22 08:35:30 |

And either way, it should be tagged as built in USA as well. |
