Sunbar ◊ 2023-09-11 12:47	[FE] built on common FE/1720 Opel platform. It looks in far better condition than my 1974 Vauxhall was when I sold it in 1984, being scrapped one year later. The paint on the boot lid was almost gone, the rusted-through door sills had been replaced, the exhaust system was replaced every 18 months to two years. The engine was still OK but nothing else. It never actually let me down except for a gearbox failure within warranty in the first year! That should have told me how much of a nightmare it was going to be. Only the fact that spares were cheap and I could do most of the repairs myself made me keep it going.
