Model origin Japan made for: USA, I suppose as they were sold here, but are very rare today. |

I don't think this model was ever officially sold in the US. Subaru did not enter the US market until 1970, with the small 360 sedan. So I would not mark as "Made in US". |

I disagree. rjluna2 said ''I believe they were sold to USA market'' /vehicle_420400-Subaru-Sambar-1966.html |

That's not really a reason to add the tag. However I researched this and came up with this: Link to "www.ebay.com" The back side: Link to "i.ebayimg.com" So what I found is that "Subaru of America" (Malcolm Bricklin), which was not officially part of Fuji Industries (Subaru's parent), imported the 360 sedan, 360 Sport, Van and Truck, from 1968-1970. The cars did not sell well because of a Consumer Report safety article. Fuji officially started importing cars in 1970, but not the 360-line. The history can be found here: http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z15422/Subaru-360.aspx So this answers the question on whether there were "Made in the USA" versions. |
