The blue one. An Ed Roth build? |

Could be. Or it could be a George Barris built model, or a concept car. Auto manufacturers didn't stop making those after the 1950's. -- Last edit: 2012-05-31 22:40:36 (G-MANN) |

They look like movie props to me. |

All three are Darryl Starbird creations. The Corvette-based one is the 'Cosma Ray'. |

"All three are Darryl Starbird creations"... no sorry, the yellow one is the "Mantaray" built by Dean Jeffries. |

OK, so we have two identified. The Starbird Cosma-Ray and the Jeffries Mantaray. |

The blue one was made by my cousin Dale Gould. He and George Barris corroborated on making the Monkey Mobile and Batmobile. My brothers and I got to watch him make the bubble car. We got to sit in it. It was a 3 wheeled car with tiller steering and small TV. Dale had a muffler shop. He also made the model T roadster used in the Dobie Gillis show where Maynard (Of Gilligan's Island fame)was under the hood making engine sounds and blowing smoke out of the exhaust headers. |

Incredible story, thanks for sharing! From your description I wonder if it was built on a Harley Davidson golf cart or similar ![]() |

Oh, The bubble car was used in an episode of The Mission Impossible tv series. I think it was used in season 3. |
