Irish Austin builds started in 1936 and developed rapidly until WW2 shut off CKD supplies. The only model mentioned is the pre-war Eight, but suggestions there was a range available, so this one is likely as well. Entering as 1939 to match when plate series was issued. Unless the other possibility is a 1937 UK car which somehow arrived in Ireland in 1939. |

This is a 1937; there was a slight change in July 1938 that enlarged the doors. The easiest way to observe this change is the appearance of the rain channel around the C-pillar. Compare: 1937/1938 - 1938/1939 |
