Tracked it down. Footage is the 1964 Australian Tourist Trophy at Launceston, held during the 1964 Longford Weekend, when they also had saloon, bike and Tasman formula "F1" events around a crazy road circuit with more deadly hazards than you could throw a stick at - brick railway bridges, trestle road bridges, whacking great tress, 90-degree bends ... watch the Tasmanian tourist board film here. #6 was Bib Stillwell's Cooper T47 Monaco with recently fitted 2.7 Coventry-Climax, disqualified after push-start ![]() ![]() ![]() Car survives today with a detailed history from a 2018(?) auction ad. Chassis #20, commissioned new by Stirling Moss in 1959 with a 2.5 Coventry-Climax FPF motor, debuted and qualified on the front row of the grid for the 1959 British Grand Prix Sports Car Race at Aintree. Bib Stillwell bought and took it to Aus in 61 where it had a long and varied career ![]() Eventually returned to UK about 2000 and full resto. |
