Took me at least an hour of searching and comparing and I think I've got it. 1952 Siata Daina Cabriolet. -- Last edit: 2023-01-10 02:18:20 |

Good call, and a very pretty thing. Alvis/Park Ward nicked its front styling. |

Yep! I spent some time looking at Alvis cars but none had quite correct headlamps or 2 side inlets the Siata has. More shots of this car that helped in research here Link to "www.shutterstock.com" |

I searched the department of Alvis Graber / Worblaufen... |

1) Look at the bottom corners of the windscreen, the Alvis has a sharper angle. 2) There appears to be a “halfway house” if you look at the Graber bodied TC21/100 dhc design, but this has a 2 piece screen. 3) There was further development towards the Park Ward body in the TC108G bodied by Graber in 1955. 36 TC108G were produced, 8 survivors, no details of which coachwork was fitted. 4) That is certainly not an “Alvis” badge on the grille. dsl, there was no question of “nicking” the design. Alvis fully acknowledged the close co-operation with Herman Graber, which had been building bodies on the 3 litre chassis since 1951. The TC108G cost £2300 new, attracting, additionally £1151 purchase tax in U.K. which probably contributed to the ending of car manufacturing by the company. (The short sighted politics of envy causing a 50% rate of tax to be imposed on cars costing over £1000, which did nobody any good at all.) The resultant Graber/Alvis design was planned to have been built by Willowbrook at Loughborough, but they could not meet the pricing demands of Alvis, Park Ward commenced body construction late in 1958. -- Last edit: 2023-01-10 13:52:26 |

I have some information in my Italian book on special bodies for the Fiat 1400/1900. But as my knowledge in the italian language is limited, it takes some time to make a translation. |
