It's a difficult one. Perhaps a 1000? The problem is whether one should go with the black rear light surroundings (only available on some of the Rally versions) or with the wheels with hubcaps (suggesting at least a Special or a GLS). The problem with the former is the rarity and the lack of other features, and with the latter is the lack of a chromed strip on the sills. As also having a side strip at waist it might, on the other hand, not be a 1000 at all, but a 1006 GLS. Perhaps this one /v001039147.html already identified. -- Last edit: 2022-12-15 19:23:20 |

Too blurry for me to say anything precise apart from poverty bumper and late wheels, but 1005 and 1006 had different larger bumpers set higher; nothing suggests a high trim - no side features, headrests or tints. Permutations might depend on where made if this is non-French build - I don't think this is one of the Glasgow-filmed clips . Hopefully full film when released will enable clearer capture than the trailer. -- Last edit: 2022-12-15 20:48:48 |

This scene was filmed in Morocco. You might recognise the star on the building. |

I don't think it was the SIMCA 1000 that was lower; I think it was a FIAT 125 1967-72 What bothers me is the shape of the front fender, straight at the wheel... ![]() |

1969 MY tail lights. Pretty basic trim - no jewellery, black windows' sealing... Almost Sim'4, however wrong wheels with circular vents. Maybe taken from upper trim car? ![]() |

...that's what makes me think of FIAT, indeed, I think it's a DIY car... |

It's a strange one indeed... ![]() After seeing the film, I thought seeing two blue Simca 1000s in the Moroccan scenes (or the same one in different scenes). The first one was a view from the front, and it clearly had the two headlights from a Simca 1000 (not 1005 or 1006 as they had squared headlights), so I'd bet something that that car was indeed a Simca 1000. However, seeing this one makes me doubt a lot, as it is very blurry, and I can't see the rear engine vents. However I'd still bet on this one being the same Simca 1000 I described. A FIAT 125 would be slightly bigger than this one compared to the Peugeot 403 and also the C-Pillar should be thicker to be the FIAT. The 125 also had a fake vent on the aforementioned pillar which this one doesn't clearly have |

Sorry that I will have to correct myself. In this thumbnail, the car clearly has the tailights of a 1977 Simca 1005 (1978 had a black bar around them), but I perfectly recall seing the two, characteristic headlights of the Simca 1000. So it seems that the producers used a Simca 1977 1005 with the front of a Simca 1000? Btw, I could not find any picture of the front of the car online |

Or if this is Morocco as suggested above, likely to be a local build. Maybe they didn't follow exactly same recipe as French builds, particularly the final updates?? Agree it smells mid-late 70s for trim details with black instead of shiny stuff, but can't say anything more. Hopefully more pictures will emerge?? |

If they're all the same car the pre-68 front doesn't match the post-68 rear. Unless there's some local build quirk where they kept the old front for much longer than French builds?? Or it's a mongrel rebuilt with wrong bits after a crash?? Has unusual rear badge - maybe again a local quirk?? |

Looks like different shiny rear trim over the plate here ... suggesting 2 cars used |

As I explained above in French, I thought I had found the car on the internet. The ad had been removed (it had been on sale in Morocco), but the pictures were still visible. I think it is the same car in the different thumbnails, as it matches with the one that had been on sale... this would probably make it a rebuild |

Link to "www.avito.ma" Here it is, I bet it is the same car used in the movie |

Ok - front and rear don't match, so one end has been rebuilt. Agree it's all probably the advert car, helpfully described as - "Année-Modèle - 1980 ou plus ancien". So a new angle of attack - when did the 1000 lose its quarterlights?? Our collection suggests maybe about 1975 (before rectangular headlight update in Aug 76), but without giving a clear split as there are overlapping dates ( maybe a clean up needed??).So I'm voting mid-70s (date TBC) genuine rear and cabin with a retro front (which replaced either very late round lights or early rectangular lights). A narrow date range (2 years??) before 1005/1006 arrived with new rear details and lower side strip on side. |

. Hopefully full film when released will enable clearer capture than the trailer.
