Long Wheelbase saloon, but Silver Wraith or Silver Cloud? The grille looks a bit uncomfortable suggesting that it may have been stuck on a Bentley, thus lowering the value of the car, but that may just be a trick of the camera. The overriders look a bit Cloud-y to me. Back shortly. |

I suspect that this is a Silver Wraith LWB with coachwork by James Young to WRM31, but would seek more advice. |

I suggest 1953-55 Silver Wraith "Special" touring limousine by H.M. Mulliner design 7348. One of those appeared in the film "What A Way To Go". -- Last edit: 2022-11-18 13:57:53 |

Thanks. If it’s good enough for Robgeelen it’s good enough for me. -- Last edit: 2022-11-18 16:18:22 |

Can't find a match in my picture book for Wraith or Dawn. My guess is a late one with styling anticipating themes for SC1 - flourish on rear door moving gradually upwards, low level headlights (which are also small - mid-50s??). |

You'd be surprised. I've found an almost identical body on a Bentley MkVI.![]() -- Last edit: 2022-11-18 18:20:41 |

^ I've got similar pics of R-Type and Dawn with same body and reference to extended rear chassis rails. But apparently the only Dawn fitted with that HJM "lightweight" body was the final Dawn made [LSVJ133] and has a split windscreen and higher headlights; both it and the side-on view of the Bentley (unknown chassis, single dark colour, possibly black) also have wingtop sidelights. Otherwise they're the best fit among my pics, particularly for the d-shape 3rd side window. |

This design appears in the book "Rolls-Royce the Classic Elegance" by Lawrence Dalton |
