does anyone know, from which army the trucks, this one and the unimog, too, were coming in orign? /vehicle_158282-Mercedes-Benz-Unimog-U-416.html they are looking like left-hand-drive, so not orign made for kenya. they weren't definetely not from the german bundeswehr. the bundeswehr had no l-series -resp. not in this version- in their fleet and different unimogs. -- Last edit: 2009-01-29 16:37:35 |

I'm unsure. The soldiers are all white men, led by a Boer-esque colonel. So possibly South Africa? Unless you mean in the real world, in which case the filmmakers could've gotten them from anywhere. Like maybe they took civilian trucks and painted them to look like military vehicles. -- Last edit: 2009-01-29 16:26:47 |

in south africa the have rhd-cars either. the l-series-truck was a military truck in orign, see the roof-hatch. p.s. and the style of the cargo area is typical, too. so which country was a good friend of kenya in the 70ies and 80ies and give their old military-vehicles to them? -- Last edit: 2009-01-29 16:37:10 |

Popped the DVD in and gave the trucks a closer look. The Unimogs (there are two) are left-hand drive, but the L-Series is right-hand drive. This is best seen in two scenes: first when the truck catches on fire and the driver exits on the right-hand side of the vehicle, and later when Sheena swings over the truck on a vine, the driver can be seen (vaguely due to the dusty windshield) seated on the right-hand side of the cab. -- Last edit: 2009-01-29 16:57:19 |
