Why do you think this is a Mk VI and not an R-type? |

Sorry. Thought that silly extra lamp was for the older ones |

The driving lamp was fitted on all U.K. delivered cars, both MkVI and R-type, unless to special order. My 1953 R-type has both it, and twin fog lights with yellow bulbs to act as direction indicators. This car is a Mk VI, Standard Steel Saloon, delivered 1946 to March 1949, as the radiator grille has 20 shutters. The change to 18 shutters came in April 1949 at chassis number B163DZ, and again to 18 shutters with a central bar on R-types after chassis number B210TN. Apart from the awful colour, the car has an anachronistic wing mirror, the surround to the windscreen should be chromed steel, not black rubber, and there should be a contrasting strip with a coach line along the bonnet above the handle. The radio aerial is missing. /vehicle_502449-Bentley-MKVI-B223GT-1946.html /vehicle_1510053-Bentley-R-Type-1952.html -- Last edit: 2021-08-07 12:10:43 |
