But, according to http://www.x1-9.it/motorizzazioni10.htm, only 1500 ones (1979+ "second series") use that code, earlier 1300s are [128AS]. Also, by VINs seems that chassis code always was [128AS] being this car based on the 128, but I think we (rightly) use engine codes for older Italian cars (especially in pre-VIN era).
