Ford Eight Model Y van. 1934+, I can’t find out if this was built in Cologne or Dagenham, or assembled locally from ckd kits in Portugal. If there is a spare wheel on the single back door, it will be a Köln built 4/21PS Express Lieferwagen. Is there a view of the back door? http://www.fordyandcmodelregister.co.uk/model-identification.html -- Last edit: 2020-11-19 16:50:23 |

Unfortunately, no view of the back door. Portugal had close ties with Britain in the 1930s, so perhaps this is indeed a British-built one. |

There is no spare wheel on the visible door. Long radiator vans from Dagenham had a spare wheel on the door opposite to the driver. IF the van is lhd, and there is no wheel on this door, is it therefore on the back door? The van has a front bumper. British long radiator vans did not have a front bumper as standard. So, can we see either a bit of spare wheel on the back door, or, can we see where the steering wheel is? -- Last edit: 2020-11-19 23:29:38 |

I am very sorry, this is the only view of it. |

The position of the single windscreen wiper indicates left hand drive. There should, in that case, be a spare wheel on the visible door if the van is a Dagenham, rather than Köln build. There isn’t. It therefore seems reasonable to assume a spare wheel on the back door, so the weight of probability suggests it is a 1934+ Ford 4/21ps Express Lieferwagen. Unless anyone knows better. -- Last edit: 2020-11-20 10:44:09 |
