These generic TCM (Truck Cab Manufacturers) cabs were used by a lot of US apparatus builders from the 60's on, due to more stringent crash safety standards, it was easier to build the rest of the fire truck and then purchase a pre-built cab already certified and install it on the truck, rather than build their own cab themselves. I think this one may have been built by Simon-Duplex, judging by what looks like the hexagon-shaped trim around the headlights. |
