In episode newsreel footage of a fictional character, but must be from a similar newsreel of an important person's funeral. Daimler I guess.

I was thinking HP 423/429/4231/4291. HP makes sense for a Coventry plate Daimler, but was 1919-24 which I guess is 5-10 years too early for something looking like this which could be 1930-ish (give or take). As far as I can tell none of the royal Daimler fleet - some of which had plates - used HP.

As for the event, maybe a police funeral, 1930s onwards. On a hunch I looked for footage of the 1966 funeral of the 3 cops killed by Harry Roberts, but that was 60s VdP hearses. Somewhere I think I posted a b&w 50s cop funeral with grand old hearses and full parade/crowds, but can't find it now ...

^ found the one I was thinking of in 1947, but - no pun intended - it's another dead end.

My reading of the registration is 'HP 429' with a silver outline at the ends.

Black-out covers on the headlamps suggest WWII, it could be multiple funerals for firemen and ARP during Coventry blitz is my thinking.

It's a 1926 Waiter-Klingelton 14 HP Saloon, shamelessly bodied without a word of greeting deep down in the North of Alabamashire by Vileroy and Bosh Coachbuilders, Ltd. It was once heavily decorated with more than 100 Cadbury Creme Eggs, including 3 white ones, but it all didn't work out and people started getting angry at each other for no reason. One of them later became a reknowned plumber. What can I say - the rest is history and I'm not allowed to reveal any further details at this moment, especially as I don't know any.

Or maybe it's something completely different, who knows...
