That's a Citroen ID-19 ("also called" DS-19) earlier model. this car was way ahead of its time ; the design was very futuristic and the technology advanced For instance, the dampers were not springs but a compressed gas system that made these cars very comfortable. they were high-end cars (on the left in with this is a Renault Dauphine... ![]() -- Last edit: 2020-06-11 18:27:10 |

The Goddess and the Idée were not “also called”. That is like saying a Humber Sceptre was “also called” a Hillman Hunter, I.e. nearly but not quite. This looks like a DS. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_ID http://www.wheels-alive.co.uk/the-goddess-still-amazing-at-60/ -- Last edit: 2020-06-10 23:22:46 |

[quote=johnfromstaffs]The Goddess and the Idée were not “also called”. You're right. But it's very difficult (even for a frenchman) to make the difference beetween an ID and a DS ; it depend on many options, parts, colors of roof ...Mea culpa ![]() May be a DS 19 "pallas" or a DS 21 "prestige" 1962 ? http://www.citroenorigins.co.uk/en/cars/ds Info : it's possible to find exactly which kind of Citroen it was by contacting the Historical Citroen archiv near Paris (by frame number &/or car registration number each car was registered;) -- Last edit: 2020-06-11 18:51:32 |

That's DS19 by bumper shape. I'd say 1958-1959. Seems to have 58+ painted (not aluminium) front wallance under bumper. No 60-62 'ashtrays' on front wings. |

If the ID is the stripped out version, and, at this time, the DS is the better equipped car, and further noting that this is before the Pallas was introduced, why would the ID have more lights than the DS? My vote is still with DS. |
