![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A Studebaker shell, but no idea what's underneath it (I mean in the second phase after it was turned into that). It was referred to as the 'Gila Monster' when it was for sale some 5 years ago: Link to "forum.studebakerdriversclub.com" -- Last edit: 2020-06-08 20:31:03 |

It's two different cars. I believe the first two pictures shows a 1950 Studebaker Champion De Luxe 4-Door Sedan. I'd say that the modified car is a 1951 Studebaker Commander Regal 4-Door Sedan with optional Stratoline fender ornaments. -- Last edit: 2020-06-08 20:41:19 |

Thanks, I made a new entry for another Studebaker. They do seem to be a little bit different on closer inspection. |

Hmm, the modified car has 1950 tail lights and two-piece windshield. Might be the 1950 but with a 1951 hood? It does have rocker mouldings and fender ornaments not seen on the original car though... |

That looks like something out of a Mad Max movie. |

The only thing on this monstrosity that appears to be a 1951 part is the trunk lid handle. This poor, abused car started out as a 1950 Champion. |

I still think we could call the Mad Max monstrosity a 1951 Studebaker Regal Champion. -- Last edit: 2020-06-09 15:04:58 |

Well, since the front end (including bumper guard style), tail lamps and upper structure/windshield are all 1950, I would certainly vote for that year. Again, the only 1951 part I can see on this car is the trunk lid. It has a 1951 style handle and what appears to be a V-8 emblem. I expect this entire lid was lifted off a '51 Commander. |
