dsl ◊ 2020-05-31 21:52	No front sidelights, so likely to be early and before this grille used by Morris (1965?). Not sure if it's reliable but all our Morris with either style of grille seem to have sidelights where front is visible, and as far as I can tell none of our Austins have them. Plate looks like (x)PE or (x)FE 533/633/833. XFE gives Lincoln May-July 64.
Sunbar ◊ 2020-06-01 18:02	Morris J2 version was indeed introduced in June 1956 complete with sidelights, Austin as said seems to have no separate sidelights (combined therefore with headlights?) in the earlier versions. 1965 for commonised Austin & Morris J2 grille is best assumed date and consistent with other model where grilles were brought into line.
