Intersection of W. 5th St. and S. Grand Ave. in Los Angeles. I searched through historical pictures of LAFD, LACOFD and some surrounding departments, but could not find this exact truck (full-length side doors, no chrome trim on front, 5 side compartments, extended front bumper with dual recessed air horns).

If I had to take a guess I would say it's a Spartan chassis with cab by TCM out of Cincinnati, OH, with body and final assembly by Van Pelt in Oakdale, CA.

generic TCM cab and it's really really hard to be sure due to poor views but it it looks be Duplex D350 Enforcer based due to headlights shape and position, but either way IMO not Spartan

notice the headlights in relation to the front wheel and you see it matches with main

this doesn't look Spartan based

front logo could be Van Pelt indeed but they used other chassis too like Pemfab , Duplex, Hendrickson or something else

so suggest remove Spartan reference

early 80s Spartan usually this very big chrome plate to tel them apart here not present

suggest to list this as Duplex by By default as extra info
