I have a feeling that may be some kind of Colt Vista |

You're on the right track. I see a bodycolor strip dividing the taillight that in the US was only on the 1992+ Mitsubishi Expo (today I learned the Expo came in 2 sizes, Expo and smaller Expo LRV that was twinned with the Colt Vista/Summit). The problem is it's a stock photograph and we have no proof it's from the US; model name (Expo/Chariot/Space Wagon/Hyundai Santamo...) depends on wherever they sourced this image from. |

Here's the link to closer look. Link to "wrif.com" And I think the original post was from this Link to "www.nzherald.co.nz" So this accident was happened in New Zeland . I think the car is Mitsubishi RVR (1991~1997), and same name in NZ. -- Last edit: 2021-06-27 13:42:01 |

If it's NZ, it could be that this was J-spec instead of NZ-spec given how prominent 2nd hand import from Japan is. |

it has a colored strip in the tail lights like the Expo ( or.. did RVR had it too depending of the year ? i can't find any with it and mostly get the ASX as its named RVR here ) |
