The white car is a Bentley R-Type. The black one is a Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn. |

Why? Later..... I now see from another picture the front of the white car, which has been correctly identified as a Bentley R-type. This model was in production from 1952 to 1955 when it was replaced by the S Series cars. The coachwork it carries is the Bentley Motors Standard Steel Saloon. The black? car is indeed a Silver Dawn, carrying the same coachwork as the Bentley. The car, in this large boot form, was in production during the same period as the R-type. If you can't see the bonnet and grille, the only recognition points are the hub cap badges, the shape of the badge on the back bumper, and the conformation of the dashboard. You can also count the carbs, twin SUs on a Bentley, one Zenith (iirc) on the Royce, or you can read the pedal rubbers. LHD Bentleys may only have one carb. -- Last edit: 2020-02-13 15:19:20 |

You can also see the steel tongue under the b pillar onto which you slide the jack, in the event that you have to change a wheel. Also, a good description from Rob as to what to look for here. /vehicle_44496-Bentley-R-Type.html -- Last edit: 2020-02-13 21:52:13 |
