electra225 ◊ 2020-02-04 21:44	Yes, a very early one built before february 1971 for the fully chromed grille. In febraury the sectors containing the the headlights became matt black and in the late spring even the central part became black with just an orizontal chrome list at the level of the front badge. This chrome orizontal list was deleted in August 1973.
electra225 ◊ 2020-02-04 21:46	I would write 1970 for the fact it was changed so early in '71. About the same story happened in the first BMW series e (E21) that early in 1976 or at the bery late end of 1975 had a black plasti fake grille added at the rear end between the tail lights.
tore-40 ◊ 2020-02-05 07:03	Introduced as MY1971, weren't they. A chassis number would give the correct answer. Wikipedia claims the black paint (grille and headlamps) was added August 1971, that would be for MY1972. Or was this feature market dependant?
