Question, is that a genuine Packard or...? |

Rather not a genuine Packard! These guys were creative and had loads of time on their hands. I'd expect something like a Toyota Landcruiser etc. underneath... That way, I mean: In 1973, it's safe to assume Yonezu Kobo did the job. |

Yeah, thought so, should've left as unknown. Very odd and unproportioned front-end, while the rear looks more modern. -- Last edit: 2020-01-12 21:12:35 |

More of these were built. The only useful book about Japanese hearses I know, "The Reikyusha" (1992), shows the same Packard body (frontal view) on page one, but it isn't the same car. Ever since this book was released, I wondered what the actual chassis is - it's 2020 and I'm still none the wiser. There is or was a company in China building imitation Rolls-Royce Phantoms on Great Wall chassis for the wedding hire trade. Link to "carnewschina.com" |

Same as this perhaps? Both are Toei movies so we can easily assume there were some overlaps in the film cars. /vehicle_239711-Custom-Made-Reikyusha.html |
