Not Eagle Summit - 3-door Summit wasn't available until 1991, and this movie was filmed in 1989. -- Last edit: 2023-10-04 06:12:58 |

Looks more like a Colt (and more likely one) anyway. The color was an early one (1989-1990), the later light blue was a brighter blue. The Mirage had only body-colored bumpers in 1989, and the black bumpers started in 1990. For the Colt, black bumpers were on the base model in 1989. I don't see a big logo in the grille, but looks more like the "Colt" badge that was in the upper center grille. |

Just wondering, why do we default to Dodge Colt on this site (not talking about this one specifically, but in general)? The Mirage sold in far greater numbers than the Colt did - e.g. 20,000 Dodge Colts (and 18,000 Plymouth Colts) sold in 1990 compared with 50,000 Mirages. -- Last edit: 2023-10-04 06:37:02 |

Mainly because the Colt has been a Dodge since 1971 and the Plymouth version started off as Champ and only became Colt in 1983 (unless you were in Canada). Another thing to keep in mind with the sales numbers is that the Colt was only available these years as a hatchback, while the Mirage sold both hatch and sedans. I'd have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that a majority of Mirage sales were sedans. I know the Summit sedan outsold the hatch. |
