Seems to be a fairly straight 1968-69 Minx with mild tweaking. But a LHD with Hillman badges instead of Sunbeam is very unusual - the only market where I think this happened was Greece. We have several 1960s-70s Rootes-jewels in YU, but the assumption is that these were Sunbeam-badged. |

It's in Jamaica, if it helps. |

It doesn't, because Jamaica is left hand traffic/right hand drive. |

Oh well... |

Why is it made for Greece if it was filmed in Kingston? ![]() |

What are the odds, though? Can't it be from some other obscure market nearby? |

If it's Kingston, then usual reply would be a local build in Jamaica. I wasn't thinking of local builds in Caribbean (there was also Trinidad & Tobago) with the comment above - only Coventry build. If a US import it would be Sunbeam (and not a plain Minx); there was South American build in a few countries - probably as Hillman, but again usually Hunter. So the LHD is the problem - where in Caribbean was LHD and English-speaking?? |

Some spanish-speaking countries did advertise them as Hillman's, but not sure which ones (with Hillman badging on the bonnet):![]() ![]() |

Interesting. Those are 1967-only Hunters before the grille change - more trim than Minxes. Spain wasn't a known Rootes territory (and probably would have been Sunbeam if any did trickle through). So those are likely to be somewhere South American (and local builds). Chrysler was fairly quick to spread Rootes-jewels into its existing factories round the globe after the 1966 take-over. |
