BCD 801 issued early 1935, Brighton so not much help. Looks like an S1/S2 Drop Head Coupé H.J. Mulliner and has Spiders Eye headlights

which on the Bentley seem to have has 2 vertical lines so should be S1 (compared to the 3 pie-slice segmemts used on RR SC1).

^ As model, in line with S2 and S3 (and RR SC) equivalents. I've changed the other one.

1959-1962 S2 Conversion Drop Head Coupe by H.J.Mulliner (unless the number is fake. And there was only one RHD example of this model, so it is far more likely to be a S2.

"Only two Bentley S1 drophead conversions were ever produced on the order of Rolls-Royce Ltd as prototype to production and were both completed by H.J. Mulliner, one LHD and one RHD, making them the most sought after standard steel adaptations in existence. RR Motors then commissioned Park-Ward to continue production on the S2 and S3 chassis for both RR and Bentley cars." from this 2016 auction notice for the LHD example [B134FA], apparently built in 1957 and now black (or perhaps very very dark blue).

The RHD one seems to have been a 1959 car - registration XXA 262, chassis [B20HA], " delivered to the celebrated tycoon Sir Bernard Docker, Chairman of BSA, in September 1959 through the fine old firm of Car Mart Ltd. B20HA was generously specified with power steering, power operated hood, electrically operated windows and finished in Shell Grey with a red leather upholstery. It was also ordered with a Badge Bar, zip fastened rear window and 'B.D.' initials to the doors." - from 2011 listing and again.

So S2 accepted - still very rare - if I've understood things correctly, only 15 made (8 RHD, 7 LHD).
