Lamp clusters rather suggest R20? |

When they do a reg check during the episode I think they said it was a 21 XT. |

ALP 1Y issued August 82, last seen on a green 1996 Safrane 2.2 Vi Executive, now deceased. Not sure if this is 20 or 30, but seems a late one with rubber bumpers and June 82+ spoiler which would give 20 TS or TX or 30 TX in UK. Wheels in thumb look fairly ordinary, so 20 TS?? |

If it was a 30, there would be a V6 badge on the right. http://p9.storage.canalblog.com/98/62/307375/73472453.jpg But if it was a 20, wouldn't there be a 2 litres or 2.2 litres badge too ? https://www.flickr.com/photos/112961191@N02/23143141873 |

The only UK 20 or 30 Diesel was 20 TD (Oct 80 to May 81) and GTD (Oct 80 to Nov 1983). Our only 30 after TS was dropped in April 80 was TX (May 79 to Nov 83). |

It isn't R20 for sure. Silver frames of taillamps and these full lenght, 1981+ bumpers were to meet only in R30s. However it is IMO also not R30 Turbo D, as thumb shows this car has bigger wheels (deeper front wheel arches) - R30 Turbo D was the only R30 with smaller wheels (more usual for R20s). This way, with this badge it looks like R30 TX V6 Automatic, which for some reasons doesn't have the "V6" badge. In some British R30s this "V6" badge is quite unusual, maybe its absence here is somehow related to this... -- Last edit: 2018-08-06 21:59:28 |
