dsl ◊ 2017-03-07 05:52	No - chrome grille was first until May 51 switch to painted during MM era, continued painted when SII arrived Aug 52 (UK dates - I assume Aus sequence followed this closely).
johnfromstaffs ◊ 2017-03-07 12:13	But was then followed, still on Series II, by the barred grille which remained until the end of production of the Minor. The Series II distinguishing factor is the bonnet ornament, as seen above. The MM had a flat chrome trim.

johnfromstaffs ◊ 2017-03-07 17:16	Yes. If you think that's a chrome grille, or maybe the Ozzies had surplus chrome grilles. The handle-like bonnet ornament did not feature on the MM, and the split windscreen means pre 1000 only, so, as Sherlock used to say - if the whatsits match the thingummies, whatever is left must be kosher. -- Last edit: 2017-03-07 17:24:46
