More visible than in the first movie: /vehicle_99074-Studebaker-Starliner-1953.html They re-made the scene as it was not cut there like in the first movie. It is also visible at the beginning of the third movie. The more I look the more it seems like a multi-part/multi year mix. Doesn't it seem as if there is a fender top ornament (Hawk component) yet a smooth non-Hawk type hood? Clearly '56 Golden Hawk rear roof treatment but equally clear non-Hawk trunk lid and rear taillamp areas. Rear bumper is definitely from a '53/'54. Don't really know what to list this as other than Studebaker modified. Could still leave as '53 if we like (as first possible year) but more and more, I'm coming to the conclusion this car began life as a '56 Golden Hawk. Another problem. All '53-'56 hardtops had sculpted front doors but this car doesn't appear to. The door may be off a '57/'58 Golden Hawk, making this vehicle even more of a mongrel. -- Last edit: 2013-07-31 20:24:03 |

But wouldn't it have been easier to simply get a '53-'55 Studebaker than to go to the trouble of modifying one? I think it likely the car looked like this when they got it for the movie. Doubt the Hollywooders even knew what it was or what it should look like. |

hmmm , perhaps this car was wrecked before the film and the owner got cheaper parts which weren't exactly accurate to fix it ? I do know that they lost 5 weeks filming by recasting Eric Stoltz with Michael J. Fox and they may have been on a very tight schedule and had to use what they could get their hands on fast ... I do know they wanted some Studebaker because there is supposed dealership there you should get the DVD/ Blu Ray and dissect the movie yourself for this (mostly) well preserved 50s cars -- Last edit: 2013-07-27 21:46:53 |

I did watch and enjoyed the first movie but have never seen the second. |

then have a go 2nd is quite a good movie too , even if a slightly darker tone to the first , 3rd is mostly a western with a love story |
