The basic car is a 1975-77 Camaro but with the taillamps of a 1978-81 version grafted on poorly. |

I was wondering if this scene was a homage to Police Squad, where many times Frank Drebin would crash a similar car into things like trash cans or a row of bikes. |

Curiously, the Camaro appears to have a roll cage in it. |

probably a dead-engined redneck racer that was bought cheaply at a salvage yard for the purpose of being crashed into on film. |

Has the 1978-1981 tail lights -- Last edit: 2020-02-17 14:02:40 (walter) |

somehow looks fishy... like they were painted over or something my mom's cousin has a 1979 and orange/white parts don't look that bright ( and the car is really well maintained ) -- Last edit: 2020-02-17 14:03:11 |

From the newest thumbnail: Those are the factory 1975-1977 taillights, but the center panel was painted up to look like the newer taillights. Between that and the roll cage, I think this was probably a stunt car from a previous production, where it was doubling for a slightly newer 2nd gen Camaro. |
