And yes, you're right, wheels can be easily swapped. There are even some examples of this happening with Caprices on this very site. However, going by that logic, we can say the same thing about nearly every other vehicle listed on this site that may or may not have wheels from a different model year. Anyhow, this appears to be (or have been at the time) a real NYPD Caprice based on the markings and its overall appearance. I'd say it's the real deal and that the wheels are original.
rtsbusman1997 ◊ 2013-07-18 06:52	This was a real New York City Police Department unit at the time. If it was a 1993 model, it would just have steels without the center caps (1993 models were ordered with the full wheelcovers and they would fall off with just the exposed steel wheel).
