I'm absolutely sure this is not an Italian conversion. The entire coachwork looks German and Polmann-inspired - but it isn't a Pollmann. This often happens if local coachbuilders are asked to build a funeral coach, despite not being specialized in that kind of conversions. My conclusion: This is probably a one-off from Germany, either built for Italy or later on exported to Italy, where the interior, drapes, rails and decorations on the roof have been added. Quite an interesting mystery to solve - but so far, I'm none the wiser who could have built it. |
