It certainly looks like one, as they were built under license in Bulgaria by the Chavdar works. This one is called a Chavdar 11 M 4. Another brand to add to the list ! See here. http://kamim.host.sk/doprava/technika/chavdar.php and http://kamim.host.sk/fotkybg/bg-b2438.jpg -- Last edit: 2006-08-02 21:18:27 |

Its a first on this site , and I've never heard of it either (but this isn't as strange). I found IMCDb when searching MSN for a complete list of auto makes, because I wanted to learn about smaller or less known makes (I discovered Citroen, even though it isn't small, Peugeot, Holden, Geo and Scion here). And, then I was only slightly interested (as at first, this website didn't seem my thing), and I found the Maximum Overdrive page (me, Trucker and truckface all started off there if I remember right) and decided to join (for a short time only). And, I was dwd4x4 and then when I really got into it, I switched to Explorer4x4. And, you know the rest... And, it was a good thing I did join, otherwise, you may never have recognized Tempo! ![]() |

I remember discovering the existence of Chavdar last year while doing a Google search about something else. Never heard about it before so I saved some pics, just in case this brand turned up here on IMCDb one day. ![]() |

Wikipedia has a tiny paragraph on Chavdar. It says that Chavdar was a Bulgarian coach bilder from 1927 to 1948. It also says. It also said that Chavdar produced about 200 buses, all on modified Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Dodge chassis, and later, Chavdar buses were rebadged and resytled and labeled under Setras. |

Tiny paragraph indeed. The link in slovakian I posted earlier is more complete and up to date. Too bad I don't understand most of it. |

So, I want to say something! Chavdar is Bulgarian bus builder, which produced buses to 1999 year. Some of the models are with licence of SETRA. This is exactly Chavdar 11M4. Look at www.buschavdar.e107deluxe.org! this is a fan-site of Chavdar buses, there is big history of this brand, but you must translate it, because it's in bulgarian. Chavdar has got 29 models. The list of models is on "Модели" in this website. -- Last edit: 2009-06-10 18:06:30 |
