As you want. BTW. seems there were only the "E" in our country. I think I've never seen any with single lights in film, and there was also a wreck of kombi close to our home - it also had 4. |

Yes, because they were only for sale outside USSR. You can saw cars with 2 headlamps, but only with russian plates. Next version, in 1969, is very funny, because both Moscvitches, 408 and 412 (both IE for export), has identic body, but different engines. And on IMCDB all cars before 1966 are 408, and after 1967 - 412. .gif ";)") |

In DDR they had them with single headlamps, we have such cars on the site. About the newer model, indeed there can be mistakes, but wasn't the 412 main model? I think it was a bit similar with 2140, there was also a 2138, but I think the most common model was this with highier number and more modern engine. -- Last edit: 2009-08-14 00:04:03 |

I know. DDR and - perhaps - Cuba, was exceptions, I think. Originally main was 408 - 1964-1969, 412 was introduced later, on chassis 408 (1967-1969). After restyling in 1969 - main chassis was 412, and 408 was on chassis 412. After restyling in 1975 408 became 2138, and 412 became 2140. End of production - 1986 (but as IZh - till 1997) Engins - 1300 cc for 408 and 1500 cc for 412. |
