DL 1725 was slightly unusual spec - most were 1496cc carry over from Minx [Arrow]. Automatic was offered which only came with 1725, and 1725 was an option on manual but buried in the small print. I guess 1725 would have been essential for a caravanner - the 1496cc was pretty weak. |

I had 3 DL1725 estates, LFD479L, NEA554P and PNX785R, with a GL, RFD100M as a fill in. The DL spec had a cast iron head engine, whereas the GL was alloy and worth a few extra bhp. They were used to tow a four wheeled horse trailer, which was frequently filled with used office computers. I was very relieved when the boss bought a Mercedes L608D van. The caravan is flying what looks like the Caravan Club red pennant, one of which is in the near side front window of my Coachman Amara, and the Desmo Boomerang wing mirrors on the Hunter are fitted with the trailer towing extension, one of which is in my toolbox. The Hunter has the rear end droop common to the breed, especially when towing. -- Last edit: 2016-12-09 16:59:04 |
