Looks like Albion grille badge? If VMJ 522 = late 1958 Bedfordshire. Or VMU 522 = Dec 51 to Nov 52 "allocated in blocks", Middlesex. |

Albion yes from 1950 curved fronted cab. Clansman [FT35] or Chieftain [FT37]..' possibly the lighter Clansman? VMJ 522 = late 1958 Bedfordshire less likely I think.. Cannot yet read the name on the cab (XXXXXXDEN & XXXXLEY (/HADLEY?)) -- Last edit: 2016-09-19 22:30:41 |

![]() Confirmed as VMU 522 = 1952. Can't read the headboard any further than ^. Was Clansman [FT35] still available in 1952 - it's not listed in my Glass's?? |

VWJ, (Sheffield CBC October 1955), or VWU (Yorkshire West Riding April 1958) and how about "RIPPONDEN & DISTRICT"? https://www.flickr.com/photos/70147272@N04/sets/72157631551905858/ -- Last edit: 2016-09-20 11:19:53 |

Ripponden and District yes! Looks larger to me than the (imposter) 1950 Albion Claymore 3-ton repainted in Ripponden and District colours, however. http://www.pointyourhouse.co.uk/albion%20book.pdf 1950 - 1959 Albion Clansman 5-Ton [FT35] I guess but cannot confirm the use on the Ripponden and District fleet. http://www.trucksplanet.com/catalog/model.php?id=1410 -- Last edit: 2016-09-20 12:07:03 |

I'd go for the Clansman, this looks too chunky for a three tonner. Memories of the 1970s, flogging round East Lancs/West Yorks, where there always seemed to be a hill with a R and D truck creeping up it and which my Hunter estate hadn't got the power to overtake, especially towing a four wheeled horse trailer with data processing equipment in it. -- Last edit: 2016-09-20 13:07:50 |

^Pleased that you agree; failing exact fleet information for 1950s Ripponden and District trucks, Clansman it is! |
