Unusual sighting on UK roads , still quite new at this time so I guess this must have been with one of the US Army bases in Britain.

Opening sequesnce represents a US base in Starnberg, Germany; but its almost certainly the UK.

It also appears the truck is seen approaching the entrance to the base on the left side of the road, although it could be a 'one way' road.
edit: The side of the hood shows no USMC number in the movie.

Another alternative is this section of the film was shot in the US by Universal, including Victure Mature's appearance, before or after the main film was completed.

The wooden building in the thumbnail has a bit of a Wild West flavour, so perhaps a Western backlot set was dressed up as an army base.
