N-AC 161H = 1957 AC Ace Bristol Roadster, chassis BEX 281 - originally sold to USA. An eventful life since in UK, Denmark, Argentina and now Germany - see 2016 auction notice and the subsequent footnote that this is not the ex-Jean Claude Bajol AC Ace Bristol as frequently claimed; that car is chassis BEX 381. (I've no idea if that is a significant bit of information or not, but it's interesting to see Bonham's experts admitting they'd dropped a clanger in the original listing and trying to cover their embarrassment). |
