Fake Polish coach. ![]() Google Translate gives "let the dead pope" for "niech zyje papiez" but "may he live the pope!" for "niech zyje papiez!". |

Yes, if you paste it in Google Translate in correct Polish form, so "niech żyje papież", it transaltes it into "long live the pope". |

This being filmed in Italy, I strongly believe it's based on a Fiat chassis. But then again, I have no other proof for my statement than likelyhood. Otherwise is the model with additional windows known as van Hool Vistadome https://www.flickr.com/photos/lva45/5071756322/ , but I believe it's based on a Van Hool 304 , 320 or 340 Link to "subastas.catawiki.es" (9th picture to the left or 30th to the right). http://www.lineoz.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2109&start=150 (9th until 12th picture from bottom). Does anybody know if it was called "van Hool 320 Vistadome" (or "van Hool 304 Vistadome") or just "van Hool Vistadome"? -- Last edit: 2016-03-01 00:00:22 |

Van Hool 304, based on Fiat 306/3 engine, gearboxes and axles (look at the so Fiat-ish steering wheel). It surely had an Italian life (as secondhand coach) because its livery is the one used to identify the "Gran Turismo" scheduled services up to early 2000s. I guess the former owner was Fontaneto in Novara, Piedmont, Italy. It's a MkII Vistadome, because early Vistadomes had a more rounded body shape. -- Last edit: 2016-03-19 17:07:08 |
