Classic or Classic XL? |

This truck is named FLD Classic on some sites. Is it its accurate name, is it the predecessor of the Classic, or is it the very first Classic? The cab, hood and fenders are different from the current Classic / Classic XL, anyway:![]() ![]() ("FLD" Classic // Classic) |

Not an FLC. Both the 1977+ 120 and the 1985+ 112 are different:![]() ![]() (FLC 120 // FLC 112) |

(Some months and searches later) My mistake: it's indeed a 1984-87 FLC 120, predecessor of the 1988+ FLD. As tractor, either an FLC 12042T (4x2 / single rear axle) or an FLC 12064T (6x4 / tandem rear axle): ![]() (Excerpt of the 1986 Freightliner truck line brochure) -- Last edit: 2016-05-11 03:30:39 |

If we wanna get technical the truck seen here is a 1985 Freightliner FLC-120 it's the same one that was used to film Big Trouble In Little China (The documents to that truck prove that it was first used in Big Trouble In Little China and than later used to film Scarecrow and Mrs. King episode with the air dam added to it for the Scarecrow and Mrs. King episode) The truck was eventually found in Maine in 2019 when it had made the local news paper while it was owned by Ron O'Brien and William O'Brien before it eventually oversea to the UK when George Matthews had bought it in the beginning of February in 2020 https://www.machiasnews.com/famous-movie-truck-leaves-calais-bound-england -- Last edit: 2023-02-08 04:17:41 |
